Rough Particles - FRC - Ph.D Thesis "Hydrodynamic Dispersion in Suspensions"- 1994 - DAMTP - Cambridge University. A plate of scanning electron micrographs of non-Brownian glass spheres of 600 micros in diameter. The pictures illustrates details of irregularities associated with surface roughness and geometrical deviation of the particles from its spherical form (shape anisotropy). Also the pictures shows two distributions of the surface irregularities for small and large roughness (for X1000 lens). These pictures were taken from the Electron Microscopy Unity in Cambridge University (Department of Biology). We use 5kV of the electron microscope and full focus. During the observations the 600 micros spheres were jet washed in DD2-HO. Lens: X20; X100; X 1000.
